Halloween. 2006. I was a junior in college at good ole’ Indiana University of Pennsylvania. My girls got together to celebrate, but we’re not you’re typical college girls. There were no nurses or schoolgirls or [enter stereotypical skimpy costume here] among us. Our typical Friday night included a Beauty + the Beast followed by an interpretive dance of “Baby” by Justin Bieber and some hot chocolate. Don’t get me wrong – there were a few rare occasions that we could be found dancing on a table, but 90% of the time, we were sober while doing it. No judgment! It’s just who we were/are! Most of these gals were a year ahead of me, so I was a h o t  m e s s this Halloween – crying, red-eyed, and just generally not cute. I already had separation anxiety already creeping in, because I knew these girls wouldn’t be around anymore come…

Y’all. I did it. I finished. A 21-day Wellness Cleanse to reset my insides. Phew. Every 21 day challenge I do simultaneously feels like an eternity and a blip. When I began a true lifestyle reset in February of 2015, I was quite simply sick and tired of being sick and tired. My new friend Kris Carr explains it best. At some point in our lives, every one of us dazzling human beings clomping around in heels gets an important call from the “This Is Your Chance” hotline. The call comes in one of three ways. Life hits a 911 tipping point and suddenly you’re up agains the ropes of mortality, begging for one more shot. You realize that the only way to get out of the rubble is to rebuild a more sustainable you. A divine disco light ignites the spare and your third eye explodes with love for yourself. In that instant your inner…

I don’t remember NOT having pooping problems. I don’t remember NOT having pooping problems tied to mental struggles.   CHILDHOOD I do remember my dad reading stories to me as I sat patiently on the toilet waiting for it to happen for the first time in a week. He read right on through the collection of Disney stories. Cinderella. The Jungle Book. Beauty and the Beast. I sat through them all, waiting to poop, and it wouldn’t happen. Not even a plop. 🙂 It didn’t stop as my teen years started. I still had pooping issues through all of the big events, those life-changing experiences, and — omg, especially in public! During my junior year, the band went to New York City. Moments like crying over the beauty of the music of Lion King on Broadway to standing hand-in-hand with my high school sweetheart were veiled in the consistent worry in the…

Extra Über Important Note : I’m so stoked that you’re here to learn about Meal Prepping! For real. It warms by soul. 🙂 BUT – Be sure to read ‘Part I : How to Meal Plan like a PRO‘ FIRST! Or else, this post won’t make a lot of sense to you. Mad love, j It’s no secret that, in the grand scheme of my life, I haven’t been meal prepping like a PRO for long. But, really, you’re probably already part-way there to your ‘PRO’ status. You probably already do things like take dinner for lunch the next day, make freezer meals ahead, cook all the week’s veggies at one time, or baggie out chips for lunch each day of the week. So, you’re already doing it, you tupperware afficionado! With some intentional planning, food prepping for the week becomes a breeze! Now that I work from home, meal prepping…

Ok, so that title is just a smidgen false. I’m not a pro. When it comes to planning and prepping food – I’ve failed forward. Just this weekend I tried to make a carrot and zucchini fritter recipe. #bigfatflop But now, rather than getting super frustrated and down on myself, I stick with the mantra live and learn. In this instance – don’t use coconut flour in fritters! 🙂 Why? All jokes aside planning and prepping my food has totally changed so much about my life.      my time Before I started this system, I thought that planning and prepping would take some exorbitant amount of time… but it really doesn’t. You see, it IS more work on the front end, meaning that there is one larger chunk of time that I spend getting my food in order, BUT it means that there is SO much more time in my week –…
